ABSTRACT

This report has been prepared to update small-drainage area site information collected under the cooperative agreement between the U.S. Geological Survey and the Mississippi State Highway Department in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration. The findings expressed in this report are not necessarily those of the Mississippi State Highway De- partment nor the Federal Highway Administration.

This is the seventh in a series of annual reports summarizing data collected in this project. The first, prepared in May 1967, gave information on the data network, description of the recorders, method of computing flood runoff, a tabular summary of the data collected at each site through September 1966, and an example of the detailed rainfall and runoff data collected. Reports 2 through 6 presented descriptions of each of the sam- pling sites and summaries of flood-peak stages and discharges recorded through March 1968, March 1969, April 1970, March 1971, and March 1972. This report is a compilation of all sig- nificant peak stages and discharges recorded through March 1973.

The site data summarized have been compiled so that an over- look can be given to the information collection program by the Mississippi State Highway Department, the Federal Highway Ad- ministration, and various levels of the U.S. Geological Survey. The compilation serves as a convenient source of information for review and preliminary analysis.
